Why karaoke for a birthday?
A birthday at a restaurant is quiet, in a club it's noise, and at home it drowns in the seating chart. A private karaoke room sits in between: you have your own space, you can be as loud as you want, and the programme takes care of itself — someone grabs the mic, someone else says "me too", and the night runs from there.
Works for an intimate group (4-6 in a smaller room), friends or family (8-15), or a full group up to 25. Also great for birthdays where the birthday person doesn't want to sing — sometimes a night listening to your best friends make fools of themselves is also a gift.
By age / type of birthday
- Sweet 16 / 17 — book before 20:00 for all-ages access. Snacks and soft drinks via the karaoke screen. Parents can stay or leave early.
- 18, 19, 20 — first night-out birthday — start from 20:00 (18+ rule), regular bar prices. Good for groups of 8-15 in Tante Roosje or Moulin Rouge.
- 21, 25, 30 — busier programme, often paired with dinner beforehand. Disco for groups of 15-25 with a dance floor, or K2 Apreski (10-20).
- 40, 50, 60 — works surprisingly well. The catalogue has as many '80s hits as 2024 pop. No one has to face a dance floor.
- Intimate birthday (4-6 people) — smaller themed room like Café Nol or the Christmas room, intimate setting, own pace.

Planning tips
- Book 2-3 weeks ahead for weekdays, 3-4 weeks for weekends. For Sweet 16 slots (before 20:00) there's more flexibility.
- Surprise the birthday person with a song: have friends prepare 1 song beforehand that's special to the person (a wedding song, a holiday hit, a guilty pleasure).
- Combine with dinner: Rembrandtplein has plenty of restaurants — dine 18:00-20:00, then a 20:00-22:00 or 21:00-23:00 session.
- Decorations: balloons and banners are fine to bring — just no confetti (cleanup costs would be charged back).

- Price: €10 p.p. minimum consumption + room fee from €10 p.p. (varies by room and time slot). Budget €20-€40 per person effective including drinks.
- Booking: online via singsing.nl — instant confirmation, pay by iDEAL or card.
- Open: Mon-Thu and Sun 20:00-04:00, Fri-Sat 20:00-05:00. Before 20:00 on request (all ages). Other times — daytime party, early drinks — are available on request via info@singsing.nl.
- Age: all ages until 20:00, 18+ from 20:00. Sweet 16 birthdays: book early to avoid restrictions.
- Cancel / reschedule: free up to 72h before, 1× free reschedule up to 24h before.
- Food: no full dinners, just snacks via the karaoke screen. Own food/drinks not allowed in a private room — a cake for the birthday person is fine, just bring your own plates, cutlery and a knife (we provide bin bags for the waste). For a full or partial venue hire, own catering is open for discussion via info@singsing.nl.

Frequently asked questions
Yes, provided the booking starts before 20:00. Until 20:00 our rooms are all-ages — after that it's 18+. For Sweet 16 parties most people plan from 17:00 or 18:00 to 20:00.
Yes, the birthday person is welcome to bring their own cake or cupcakes! Just bring your own plates, cutlery and something to cut the cake with, as we don't provide those in the room. We'll hand you bin bags for the waste. Other own catering (chips, snacks, your own drinks/alcohol) is not allowed.
Balloons, banners and cards are fine to bring and hang — use tape, nothing permanent. No confetti (hard to clean up). The room's own lighting and decoration can't be changed.
Budget €20-€40 per person effective for one 1h45 session including 2-3 drinks. Minimum consumption is €10 p.p., plus the room fee (varies by room/time slot). Exact pricing shown at booking.
1 session of 1h45 is good for a focused evening (especially when paired with dinner or drinks beforehand). 2 back-to-back sessions make a full night out. For a birthday with 8-10 people most groups find 1 session + bar time enough.
No problem. No one is forced. In a private room you can order drinks, manage the queue, film, or just read along. Many "I don't sing" birthday people end up grabbing the mic at the end of the night — usually on a group song (Bohemian Rhapsody, Sweet Caroline, Don't Stop Believin').
Our 6 themed rooms fit 4 to 25 people. For a 4-10 person birthday: Café Nol or the Christmas room. For 8-15: Tante Roosje or Moulin Rouge. For 10-20: K2 Apreski. For 15-25: Disco with a dance floor. At booking you pick your group size and see which rooms fit.
